Jeez, I think there's a magnetic bolt retainer/dish on the side of mine right now...

He does have a point about "opening a new market" (lol, red jacket reference)
Ronald Reagan:"Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it."

Homer: "Bart...there's 2 things I know about women. Never give them nicknames like "jumbo" or "boxcar" and always keep receipts...it makes you look like a business man."

i'm in the meter business and a magnet will not do a damn thing to change his bill. however i'd like to know what else he has done. the locks on each side of his meter can are due to meter tampering and where i am at a red seal indicates an off meter. i had to watch with no sound so not sure what he said about any of it. we see people putting magnets on our meters all the time. we could care less.

Yeah, he mentioned that in the beginning...apparently they put the locks on there when they found the magnet.

Agreed too....magnet won't do shit to an electric meter. However, water meter...well, that's a different story.

              Ditto here.

On the old mechanical meters, it would work, but not the new transistor smart meters. And just lol @ 2 anti-tamper locks.

I've always wanted to visit a theft division of a utility and see all the shenanigans. What I have seen, always amazes me.

people get very creative and take big chances with safety. seen a few drug houses that were underground service. they actually tapped into the service before the meter underground and came up under the slab of the house. had a big ass hole in the floor of the kitchen and a breaker can inside.

Revenue Security was my most favorite adventure. I should've kept a detailed journal.

One of my dads favorite hobbies was tampering with the utilities. He hook the eletric meters back up when they disconnected them. Then they took it the meter one time so he bought one a flea market and stuck it on. They cut the gas off one time so he clipped the lock and turned it back on. Then they stuck a plug in one of the pipes and a new lock so he took the plug out and clipped the lock. Then they took the whole meter. SO he built his own out of an old ounce regulator and some pipe. The constable finally showed up and told him to stop so he did. Well, sort of.
