Here is my latest project. Needed to get it running and driving so I could use it to start teaching the kids to drive. It is a 144 ci 3 on the tree. The car was bought new by my great grandmother and passed down through the family. I have been after the car for years. I first asked my uncle if I could buy it from him in 1990. He refused to sell it to me then and let it fall into disarray. When he finally came to the realization that he was never going to do anything with it, he offered to give it to me if I promised to never let it leave the family. I took the car and it has been sitting out back at my place since 2004. I finally drug it around about a month ago and started repairing the mechanics of the car. It was parked because the clutch was out. Pictured is what I removed from the car. I think he got all the good out of it. All of the brakes were shot and the fluid was long since gone leaving a corroded mess. I replaced all the wheel cylinders, master cylinder and did a full brake job. The column shifter was inoperable and required me to remove the column, disassemble it and do some welding to repair. At some point my uncle had put shag house carpet in the interior. Apparently it draws and holds moisture like a sponge. The floorpans are completely wasted. Anyhow, it is running driving and stopping now, the new floorpans are on the way and should be installed in a couple of weeks. I thought some of you freaks on here would appreciate the little Falcon, so here it is.

        I like the "patina"

I would replace the floor pans, motor , suspension, interior and paint the Roof only ( if that)

Cool little project with some good history behind It !

I look forward to updates Lusk !

I can see retaining the patina since it has been in the family so long, but if it were me I'd lower it, put a fresh coat of white on it and do something fun with the roof like metal flake silver or red or blue.

Not really sure what the long term plans are for it. I want to get it back to drivable condition and then see where it goes from there. I have several ideas for it, but for now I just want to be able to cruise it around and torture my kids with the column shift manual. LOL.

LOL. It was down in the line of projects behind a couple of other cars that I have done.

Looks good man, my Grandad gave me his (69 chevy C-10) truck about 10 years ago. I'm workin on it now, it has the 3 on the tree and I love it because people don't see them everyday.

I figure if i teach my kids how to drive a 3 on the tree, they will be able to drive anything. I run in to people all the time that can't drive a manual and it blows me away every time. How the hell can you not know how to drive a manual transmission car?

I completely agree. When I started dating my wife, I made her learn, made my son learn when he started to drive and in a few years my daughter will too. That is one of those things that everybody needs to know.

Obtw cannot wait to see how the falcon comes out.

Cool. I learned to drive on a 67 Ford Falcon with Three on the Tree.
