In 1/8th scale. I scored this kit a couple of weeks ago for a great price. I am hoping a basic build with a little detail will get me back into the groove of building. The inspiration is Brian Hobaugh's road race vette.
I won't be doing the fender flares or anything super crazy. I am shooting for a road race look without major modifications. The paint color will be GM performance red and it will get the matte black trim to help with the aggressive look.
Building older kits always poses a problem. The first one I ran into were horrible mold lines that had to be sanded out. The next was the headlights. The kit was designed so that the front and back half were assembled around a molded rod on the body allowing them to pivot.
This doesn't lend itself well to a flawless finished product. So, I opted to remove the molded bar and insert a tube into the headlights. I will drill holes in the body so that I can insert the bar at a later time to keep the headlights in place.
