Oversized mailbox with normal sized mailbox inside, and cement in between?

This is what the neighborhood association did when I was a kid b/c their community mail box was a prime target for bats.

I think it's time to over-engineer the mailbox structure.
Ronald Reagan:"Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it."

Homer: "Bart...there's 2 things I know about women. Never give them nicknames like "jumbo" or "boxcar" and always keep receipts...it makes you look like a business man."

I think you're right, I just saw that the window was down and it looks like the post didn't move.

Well guys, its my next door neighbors mailbox. The first time (no video of that one...this is the 3rd or 4th time its been hit) I suggested sinking some thick metal posts in the ground or use what they do in parking lots and use a bollard. Another neighbor said you have to watch out because someone can sue you for injury if you go crazy making sure your mailbox doesnt move an inch.

Normal mailbox, then a fucking concrete pillar buried next to it. You know only about 8 - 10 inches out of the ground. Just enough to catch the wheel or a- arm. Paint it bright safety red also. That way the cops can ridicule their dumb ass. Hell even better, one on each side with a planter on it. Just decorations people, nothing to see here.

I like the concrete planters/pots ideal. Enough to make sure the car stops and maybe talk with them about replacing what they f'ed up. I must be too honest, I'd turn around apologize profusely and pay for replacement.
