I see everything from just the plate dislocated to whole front facias torn off with the plate.
How many plates do you see lying in the roadway on a daily basis? Almost nil.
Road debris gets brushed off to the side with the passage of traffic. If the plate was in the road, I'd give a 98.999999% chance it's from the offending vehicle.

I can tell you what vehicle the plate is registered to...if I had the plate #."Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson, 1776

I talked to him this morning and the plan is a couple 4" square tubing 36" into the ground all the way up to the mailbox itself. Im sure it can be taken out again but hopefully the car wont be moving after it hits.
I will try and get the plate number when I see him. Might not be until tomorrow

And I would definitely be bracing that in some way.

2' around the sides of the box Sink 6' posts filled with concrete into the ground 4'. Leaves 2' sticking up. Then plant bushes around the box disguising the posts. Next time they hit the mail box (hopefully more solidly built this time) the will get stuck trying to back off of it. Think of a barb on a fish hook.Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

Still desperately clinging to that old chestnut, huh? I bet those plate brackets in the 20's when the law was enacted were really flimsy, seeing as plastics didn't see mass manufacturing until the 40's. But hey, just like usual, don't let facts get in the way of the dumbass little fairy tales you tell yourself as job justification.
