The pinnacle of my Lego career was this awesome piece - Technic #8865.

Of course I built it as-is first, with moving pistons, functional transmission/shifter, and differential. Then I reconfigured it into a badass stadium racer truck! Who didn't idolize Iron Ironman Stewart?? It was incredible but I don't have any photos of it.

A couple of years later, I moved on to girls and real cars. In a fit of generosity, I gave the truck to my little brother. I went to his house a week later and it was a big pile of parts. FUCK.

Of course this is the same kid that took my very impressive Garbage Pail Kids collection (with many first series) and stuck them to a toilet.

I'm pretty sure there are still some stray lite brite pegs somewhere in my Mom's house, 37 years later.

MASK! That stuff was cool. I still have some of it, but I played with it a lot, so it's not in great shape. Can't find the Camaro, which was one of the coolest ones. I do still have this one and the Bronco.

I've got a couple of these in the attic and a Rick Hunter, mint-on-card.

OMG the endorphin flood from all the nostalgia.

I'll have to take some pics some time. I have replaced some old hot wheels and other toys with some very nice, near mint examples from swap meets and ebay.

Seems like boys don't play with cars and trucks nearly as much as they used to, or is it just me? The people I know, their kids are mostly into action figures and sci-fi.

I've been collecting Hot Wheels since '68 and have about 4000 nice cars from the Redline and Blackwall era's. Most are just common cars and colors, some open and some in package. I've bought and sold these things for years, and back in the 2000-2003 years, really made some good money on them. These are a few of my favorites -

Prototype Sandcrab - never released with painted top

Custom Mustang with rare open hood scoop

Jackrabbit Special with factory error no stripes

Olds 442 in green (opened a damaged package a few years ago)

Jackrabbit Special Jack In The Box Promo from 1971

Dude, you seriously need to lay off the good old days syndrome. Of course they do.

They even play with Hot Wheels using their iPad! lol

Loved Mask. My cousin had Boulder Hill and together we may have had all of the vehicles.

Had probably every He-Man character, including both cats, Castle Grayskull, an Orko with the pull strip that would scoot around. All the others.

Had a whole lot of Star Wars figures too, including a bunch of Ewoks. Should have held onto those.

I loved Legos. Had a big suitcase full of them. All old school. Instead of cars or castles, I would build huge, elaborate marble courses. Like towers with a maze of tunnels and gaps and bridges and drops and windows to see in. There would be several different outcomes, and I would sometimes put in multiple marbles at once. They would crash into each other, come out of different places at the very bottom, etc.

                            Good times!

Oh, sorry, no pics. Wish I had some!

When I was growing up, Buddy L and Tonka trucks and vehicles were the norm. As I got older, dad and I got into gas planes. Singles , twins we had a bunch! One of my first birds was a Comet F-51. When this one came available, I just had to get it.. The Cox A-24 was another one we had . Ironic as dad's Sq. flew them during WW2. This one will get another prop and a couple parts to complete. Its resting in my B-25 cockpit seat!

These were the shit. Somewhere there is a picture of me, my chili bowl haircut, and every MASK toy made. Those were awesome.

BLAKE, you're my brotha from anotha motha. I still have most of my Legos.

I wish I would've kept other things from the 80's. Some items are fetching some coin today.
