This is my first real quad and i wanted modular, easy to fix and upgrade, good flight stabilization that I could adjust that also included everything I need to start like a battery charger and spare parts.
Reading about the forrest racing they said there were many many crashes yet the only thing that breaks are the props. They suggest a case of 60 for a normal race weekend! LOL! Wish I would have ordered that case too.

Yes sir, I use a Spektrum DX8 for all of my planes and multicopters. $350 included all of the fpv gear also. Granted, it will take me a few hours to build and tune, but that's part of the journey. HK sells a great OrangeRX 6ch transmitter for $60, so like $420 shipped for this complete setup.
I will post the links to all of the parts, for anyone interested. I love the KK2.1 FCB, but there are many FCB options. In fact, you can order the same CC3D board from them for $40 if you prefer, but you have to use your computer to program changes if needed, where as the KK has an onboard lcd screen and GUI for on the spot programming.

$250 for all of the drone parts,
and $93 DIY goggle system from Hobbyking includes everything (tx/rx/goggles/cables).

I will offer any help I can provide to anyone who would like to build one, and I live on one of the fairways of Duck Creek Golf Club in Garland, which would make one hell of a race track!

Same thing i did with planes and helis. Premade followed by pre made hobby grade followed buy build it yourself and realize you used the wrong screws to hold the tail feathers in at 130 MPH. LOL

Since you know your poo I havea few questions.

Does that Storm Racing Drone have anything that i am going to want to upgrade right away?

And any ideas on batteries? Looks like a 1500mah is about all it can hold. i bought two Turnigys for $15 each but they are only 20c where as the Stocm comes with a 25c. Figure they will be my putt putt batteries. I would prefer an XT60 plug on them already but its not a big deal to make my own.

Also want a good charger but cheap.... i know. Like a sub $60 AC version.

I also have to find a deal on props. Theirs are $77 shipped for a 60 pack (30 of each) so iguess that aint too bad.

The storm is massively overpowered, which I prefer, so you should be very happy with it stock.
As far as batteries go, the 20c's should be fine. The only issues I see, would be the added draw from the fpv could potentially exceed the 20amp continuous discharge, but I highly doubt it.

I have an AC power supply and triton charger that you can have.

I use ec3 connectors on all of my stuff, because I got tired of all of the different plugs. I can soldier in my sleep now!

That price for props is good also.

Been pricing chargers. I used to have an Imax B6 that was nice but sold it years ago. Whatever charger I get I will just put an XT60 plug on. I still have a drawr full of them. LOL.... well at least a few.

EDIT: Just reread the charger line. I am most definatly interested. Never used that kind but I havent been in the hobby for a bit now. Just let me know what ya want for it and we can work it out.
