My '80 hatchback was built from an '86 SVO wreck, so it had all the drivetrain from that car (2.3 with .48 a/r T3, PE computer with 30lb injectors, T-5, 7.5 with 3.73s).
I put a K&N on the vane meter and used a stock Ranger roller cam in it. I was fixing it more than driving it. I was doing a head gasket about once a month and I put two clutches in it. I knocked about a dozen teeth off the 3.73s so I replaced it with a 3.27 8.8 from a Mark VII. That was probably at its fastest. Then I put a .63 a/r T3 on it and swapped the gears for 4.30s and that made it slower than stock. Oh well. I beat on it a lot and it was easy to fix. I miss it.Last edited by dumpycapri85; 01-02-2014, 09:30 AM.Big Rooster Racing

Tires were $412 set wholesale and wheels were over $800 each from Ford.
The overboost buzzer was very annoying too. LOL!sigpic

The bottom was just a piece of sheet steel since the SVO IC was steel there too. The system used 1/2" hose and an ice chest under the hatch. The pump was a 12v unit for an RV sink (running water). It worked as well as I needed it to, I routinely saw 30psi and it was pretty fast for a 2.3. Until I holed a piston...
I also had a TurboCoupe IC I used when I didn't want to run the LAI.
