Long story short I'm self employed. I'm an engineer by background and I handle the consulting side of environmental remediation. Soil cleanup, lead, asbestos, noise studies, the list goes on. Basically, client comes to me and asks me to get them in compliance with whatever state or federal agency is giving them hell. No one smiles when I walk in the door because it means someone is in trouble and it needs fixing. And I love it. Nothing brings me more satisfaction than shoving solutions up some beaurocrats ass who only knows the black and white of a rule book and doesn't speak real world common sense.

That....and some commercial real estate deals I've lucked into.

I worked at the apartments I lived in out in Lubbock and had to vacuum the pool 2-3x a week to avoid that.

That's what sucks about west Texas.
