  • I hope all theives die a horrible, gruesome death

Well today just royally sucked!!! My truck was broken into today during lunch at Texas Land and Cattle. I didn't know it at the time but I left a backpack in the back seat and I guess it was enough to lure a thief.

My guess is they popped the lock first but that didn't work so they jammed a screw driver in the lower part of the glass. I had no idea what attracted them to my truck since I'm pretty good about not keeping anything in there. It wasn't till I got back to the office that I realized I was missing my backpack...nothing valuable though. Just a couple of Cisco books and an external drive with a ton of CBT Nugget videos (IT stuff).

ah ha!! got the pics working!!

DPD called the crime scene to check for prints. They managed to pull a few in areas that I don't touch to close the door. If they get a hit, I should hear back from them tomorrow... fingers crossed.

Not to mention...today has actually been the trifecta of bad days. We're just about to close on the house and turns out there's a minor issue that's causing a delay (potentially up to 30 days), then the school we're trying to transfer our kids to decided to take 4 days to tell us they're full and can't take our kids....Our kids have been out of school for 5 days as of tomorrow and they took their sweet ass time to figure out if they're maxed out.

sorry about your truck. I would be suspicious of any newly Cisco certified job candidates.

I feel your pain. I woke up yesterday morning to find someone had lifted one of my good sized acetylene tanks from my truck. Nothing like working your ass off so that others can get free shit.

This was in Dallas, between Loop 12 and I-35.

While I was waiting for the po po, I noticed there are a lot of sketchy looking people living in the Budget Suites next door. There's a lot of foot traffic across the parking lot. All they do is walk from there to the Valero across NW Hwy, buy something and walk back. The back section of the TL&C parking lot is in there direct walking path. So take that as a tip for anyone that eats there or at Humperdinks.

lol....By the time I was done with the crime scene guy, it was right at rush hours so I just hung out till about 6:30. I blended in with the other cars/trucks at Humperdinks watching/hoping to find some low life carrying my backpack.

That is why I have an alarm that warns you even if you stand next to the truck too long.
