  • My next project....

I always say follow every lead, and luckily it just paid off again. I found this very solid 66' Chevy II about 2-hours away, been sitting in storage for a LONG time (tag and inspection went out in 89')....it's like a time warp back to the 80's, midnight blue metallic, Cragar SST's, B&M Mega Shifter, diamond tuft interior and all!

It's damned solid with original sheet metal. Appears to have a decent small block in it, but it hasn't been started in years, so that was a big point of negotiation. Was also an original 4-spd car, but currently has a TH350 in it....although the pedals are still there.

I'll admit it's a little bit of luck, but a lot is also because I'm ALWAYS on the hunt too....and I've learned to be persistent. I've come home with an empty trailer more times than I'd care to admit, even still. This deal even seemed a bit shady at first....so much so that I thought it might even be a scam, and almost blew it off entirely. But turns out it was just an old guy that didn't know very well about how to communicate selling stuff online, email, technology, etc. To top it off it was also his deceased brother's car, and he didn't know much about it either...or really cars in-general for that matter.

As for what I'm going to do with it....for now it's just going to camp out in my trailer for the next few weeks. I'm completely out of space at the moment, but also having a shop built right now....so it'll probably just sit in the trailer until the shop is done in another 3-4 weeks, then I'll pull it in and really assess it more. At the very least - clean it up and get it running/driving to potentially flip it. However, another 66-7 Chevy II has been on my bucket list for a while now...perhaps this one will fill that gap.

I'm planning to put the 70' Wagon up for sale at the Good Guys show this coming weekend....if it does end up selling close to what I want for it, that might be the persuasion I'd need to let this little car stay around for a while.
