                              That is a Rat Snake. There are better known in the country as a Chicken Snake. They love to get in the henhouse and swallow eggs. They crush them once inside their belly. We used plaster of paris egs to kill them. Talk about a bowel impaction. When you kill one, hang it over a wire fence, and it will rain in three days. The old timers say they have to be belly up, but I have seen it work both ways. They are non poison, but they are aggressive, and yes the will bite you.

                                When I was in high school I lived in the "country" and we always kept an outdoor cat for mice. That fucker was cruel. We had a big carport area and he would take them right to the center, let them go, give them a little head start, then chase them down and grab them again. He'd usually repeat it about 20 times before finishing them off.

                                He'd always leave the bodies in the mat in front of our patio door. Did the same with birds he got.
