Fuck a bunch of that! Isn't the point of the TSA to screen passengers to ensure safe travel for all? If he made it to his destination, I don't see how they have any right/authority to screen him on his way out of the airport.
I would have left as well."Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson, 1776

I don't think I have ever seen a situation like that. The only thing I can think of is that a supervisor reviewed the screening tapes at his boarding airport and saw something suspicious in his bag or on his person. Although he seemed normal, he might have shot his mouth off to someone on the plane or waiting area at his departure airport about having a knife, gun, bomb.
We, pilots are subject to "screening" as well.

Im so hot tempered I would have been flipping out and probably telling the dude
he should be thanking god for the tsa otherwise he'd be flipping burgers at Mickey D's.
I would be curious to know how this ordeal ended for the guy. I dont see any point in what the tsa was trying to accomplish by hassling him. He apparently didn't cause any trouble so who cares if point A fucked up? He wasn't coming from any hot drug smuggling country, so big deal. Let the dude go.
But I also saw the tsa in Orlando let 3 ragheads on our plane home 2 years ago with no hassle but pulled my Vietnam Veteran FIL to the side for "additional screening" fucking assholes.1990 GT

I have no issue with the post-flight check, if for no other reason than that it let the guy know that he is indeed being watched, and won't be getting away with anything. He is, after all, on that list for a reason.
The real problem is the lack of screening on the front end, which highlights that airport security isn't at all secure. Hopefully someone lost their job over it.

I've seen an additional TSA screening right before we were boarding the flight. TSA did random searches of people, as it was a DFW flight the day before the Bush library opening."Self-government won't work without self-discipline." - Paul Harvey
