  • Man, it was great to meet everyone. Unfortunately I didn't get to talk to several of you as much as I wanted to. I am still freaking exhausted from the trip. That deal is no joke. There is a ton of maintenance involved in getting a single digit street car through all the abuse they take on this week. Sweet baby jesus the back roads in Oklahoma made my spleen bleed. I ended up with an average of 9.53 over the week and took 8th out of 32 cars. Broke second gear in the trans on the last pass of the last day. Time to start on the changes for next year. The shit ton of work was wiped out by the shitload of fun!

        • Nice job to all of you guys! All I've heard from everyone is how hard it is, and how much FUN it is.

PS - the Cougar turned up in some footage on the HAMB.

            • Was a blast for me and I was only there Wednesday. Was good to see Aaron and John, Gavin was hard at it under the Cougar when I went to stop and say hi. Didn't want to bother him. And when I went to say hello to Chris in the GTO he was in the staging lanes. But I did get a ton of photo's tried to get every car there. I will see you guys next year. I'll be in the daily driver class.

                    • Atleast do a bolt in cage so you can actully run a decent number next year.

                      • I have to look into that because I don't think I can do a bolt in cage since I have a true frame. But I am not 100% sure

I'd run outriggers from the frame to the floor, and a bolt in on top of that. Then when you dont need the cage in, it's able to be removed, and the outriggers are under the floor out of sight for when you do.

A quick search of the google is returning bolt in cages that are NHRA legal to 10 seconds.

A quick browse of NHRA rules states the cage must be bolted to the frame. I didn't dig far enough to see if outriggers were acceptable.
