True. I was just speaking for what you said as far as road worthiness. In a few years that may be a different story.

She's gaining my trust, little by little. Took her out for a 30 minute cruise today. Hot as hell with no a/c, but she ran good. No overheating, good oil pressure. The Ammeter makes me think that either somethings loose, or the alternator may be going out though. One more thing on the checklist.

Denny and I made it out to the Nats yesterday. I took a ton of pictures, but Photobucket is being a bitch today so I'll get them uploaded once they figure out their problems.

I wanted to go, but I started futzing with the Challenger instead. Spent all day trying to figure out how to make the rear quarter windows work, then after posting my issue over at cuda-challenger.com, I find out my car is a fairly rare stripper model called the Deputy, and the rear windows are fixed on purpose as part of the package. I was getting frantic since I took the panels off and there are no regulators in there, just a fixed bar. Couldn't find repro regulators anywhere on line. Glad I don't need them anymore!

Was there an option tag or broadcast sheet? Fixed rear windows should be A93, I think. Does not surprise me though. A 318 car, no AC, fixed quarter glasses and probably a drum brake car. My guess it was a sales bank car (not a special order) that was ordered to put out on the lot as a price leader.

Also did you look under the carpet, behind the dash or the bottom of the package tray (speaker shelf area) to see if there was an original color hiding there?

I have the build sheet, it does have the A93 on it. Four wheel power drum brakes, power steering and that's about it. I haven't pulled the carpet yet, but I'm betting that since they did a dash cap instead of a new pad, it's still green under there.

Here's the only info I've been able to dig up so far. Looks like they made it to be a cheap package, to hopefully attract buyers. On another forum, there was speculation of it even being a type of "detective" or Fed car package at some point, but I see nothing to make me believe that.

Highly doubt they would make a "fleet" (cop/detective) car that was a 2 door. Plus if they were going to build it for cop/detective/fleet line. They would have built thousands upon thousands of them. They would have had HD cooling, disc brakes on the front, big amp alternator ...etc.

Being they used a spokesman that was dressed as a sheriff. I tend to think "deputy" meant something along the lines of a "lower" price.

Your paint code should be listed on the broadcast sheet. If the dash pad was green you probably have an EF8 or FF4 green car. Maybe even a gold, white or cream exterior if it was a strange combo.

F7 and L6F7. Dark Green Metallic (believe they called it Sherwood Green) with the bargain basement green interior (has the correct base model Cuda seats still in it, but they've been recovered in black).

Is VO2 listed? Or was it a V1X (F) vinyl top car?

V1X. V02 would be sweet. Guy posted a pic of a white car with the V02 roof in a medium green. It was a '70 model, had a matching green Bumble Bee stripe and a green interior. Cool car, and very different that what you normally see.

I could for sure live without what appears to be a 3rd gen Firebird spoiler, but I would love to see more of this one. Has a definite 80's vibe to it. Rad!
