Best one was a swap out one night in Dallas around 1 in the morning. we were taxiing out (767)and the AA tower (female) asked Pete if he could put on a show. He looked over at Pat and winked at us sitting in the First and 2nd observers seat. Needless to say the t.o. was damn near vertical and the rate of climb and the altimeter were going crazy!! After we rolled 90 degrees, turned, then leveled off to head to Tulsa AA tower came back on and said "Ya pulled some wrinkles off there Pete!!"

MD-80 Heavy went to Mexico. Picking up a 737 Heavy in September. We're also "supposed" to get a 767 heavy this fall. not looking good at all. I was trying to get things set up to retire in Oct, but I believe I will have to wait till April of next year.

MD80 overhaul went to Mexico? Have they laid off? I quit 2.5 years ago.

No layoffs so far. They stopped the stand instead. Going to be an interesting fall on the base.

That's to bad. Worked with a great bunch of guys there. If they did lay off Owaso would be in a world of hurt.

Ok Binky!! LOL.. let me clarify:

stand instead is where an older employee can take a layoff to allow a younger guy to stay working..

Hangars 5 and 6 do maintenance on the 757 and the 767.

737's are worked on in Hangars 1 and 2

MD-80's are worked on in Hangars 3 and 4

Hey guys..........during bankruptcy they had a timetable as to when the big hanger at Alliance airport was going to shut down. I haven't heard much about it these days.

                      Still shutting down?

all the aircraft maintenance has been moved to a hangar at DFW. Only thing still operating there is the engine shop.

The company has its own 737 and I know the damn thing moves when they want it to. Surprised me for sure.
