    • Should be awesome man, looking forward to seeing you at the track. We had our 5 year old with us at the track on Sat and he recognized your car from the last cruise and when we talked to you, he was rooting for you!

      • Another idea is you can run the turbo straight to the intake without an
        intercooler if you run e85

        Nice runs at the cruise!
How did the car show go?

decided to just run meth and pump gas...don't live close enough to an e85 pump and don't want to mess with storing it and having to find it when i'm out and about.

were you at the cruise? i know your car is under the knife but didn't know if you came out with the hpp guys or not. should have came by and said hi if you were around.

the car show was...ehhh, it was okay, it's a small church car show so nothing to write home about, nobody seemed to know what an lsx was so i spent a lot of time having to explain what is special about the car, kinda kills any novelty! it was for a good cause and mysticcobrakiller came out so we shot the breeze for most of the time. his car is super clean.

He would have flipped, he loves to ride in my car and says it's a race car, lol, yours really is. You looked busy tuning it or something and I didn't want to bother you, next time I'll say hi.

never too busy! my laptop decided to go on the fritz that night so i was trying to get all the tweaks done before it died (not that it mattered since the car seemed to be incapable of going any faster). wish i could have gotten a run in after the temps really started dropping, last run i made was around 8:30, not sure when they shut down for the night but another 10 degrees cooler might have gotten me that 6.9x...arghh.. oh well, it's been a good run, car now has over 1600 miles on it since may and countless runs (i found like 10 slips under my seat the other day and thats just what has fallen under there!) and she has driven me to/from the track every time. can't wait to get this turbo setup up and running for next season, now that i've got all of the bugs worked out of her seems only natural to add some more!

ya, i bought 2 of the emusa 38mm w/g's, probably going to buy one of his 50mm bov's too since people seem to like them. the wastegates look like they are made very nice (and the packaging is real nice).

                          • What map sensor did you get? and I didn't read back, but are you tuning with hptuners?
What is the map sensor setup you would need? I'm currently compiling parts for my turbo lsx truck build, just a little confused as to which route I want to take on tuning.
Map tune and be done or blow through maf and upgrade later if I want to go faster.

it's a 2 bar map sensor. brooks strongly suggested i go with a 3 bar so i might end up selling this one off. reason being the 2 bar reads 1 bar of vacuum and 1 bar of boost (hense 2 bar) so it's only good up to roughly 15psi, the 3 bar reads 1 bar vacuum and 2 bar boost (about 28psi). i don't plan to ever boost more then 15psi but the point has been made that with turbo's sometimes shit happens and you don't want it to be boosting 20+psi and the map pegged at 14.7 (thus only providing enough fuel for 14.7psi and making your motor dangerously lean). if you are interested in buying the 2 bar sensor i'll sell it to you for what i paid ($35) its a factory gm sensor and they retail for about 80 bucks online.

i am already speed density so no maf, just doing the 2 (or 3 bar) sd operating system via hp tuners. i've did the n/a tuning on it and shaved off .7 seconds from the previous "tune", i'm not an expert by any means, but i have a decent basic grasp on the ve tuning and sam has been a pimp and help me out with the spark tuning. i'll be renting some dyno time and dialing in the wot stuff there then doing all the low end ve stuff on the street.

                              • Cool, I'm maf now and just started to get the turbo itch again. I know a shit load about turbos but not much on maf to map conversions on LSx based motors as this is my 2nd and will be my first boosted ls vehicle.

I'll propably be street tuning soley BTW.
