i am not a true 4 eye connoisseur so my opinion is probably based on the fact i've seen more nicely made up 85-86 cars vs. earlier foxes. i had a 93 gt as my second car so i have always had a sweet spot for the newer fronts. since this car is completely converted (interior/exterior) it is nice since I dont have to do emissions testing and have the front that I personally like.

I think of the 85-86 as a combination of the two bumpers that brings the best of both looks.

                      Agreed, except for 85.5-86 SVOs...

                      • went a handful of 7.2's last night at 96-97mph (at least she was consistent, 4-5 runs all 7.2's). not what i was hoping for (still can't get the car to 60' under a 1.6x, need a anti-roll bar). but not too bad after adding a shit ton of weight (a/c compressor, condenser, heaterbox, a/c controls, heater core, blah blah blah), and a second set of 3.5" mufflers. car drove us from n. arlington to denton and back w/ ac blasting the whole way. great to meet some more of the dfwm folks too. this winter i'm going to be changing the setup a bit to get me solidly into the 6's.

it was strange, the car went 7.2 no matter what i did, i logged every run and first run i shifted around 6200rpm, second run around 6800rpm, third run around 6400rpm, fourth run again about 6400rpm, and no matter what it pulled 7.2 at 96-97mph. i even leaned it up a bit up top and no change. i should have entered in the brackets!

oh well, it was a fun time, still too hot out, but was nice once the sun went down. funny how my fiance' last time we went out no a/c was complaining about it being too hot in the car and this time she made me turn the a/c down cause she was freezing. and the car picked up a mph even after adding all that stuff, and if it'd have 60' a 1.5x like it did before i would have knocked down another 7.1 (previous best), so i'm pleased. still chasing that elusive 6.9x though!

                            • I was watching the UStream last night when you ran... car looked like it was pulling hard.

what kind of 60's were you cutting.. I was running 1.90-2.00 and 7.4X (I don't remember) at 94 MPH I wish I could get some 1.60's 60s because that would make a HUGE diff for me

every pass was the same, low 7.2's at 96-97mph, mid 1.6x 60' foots. was running a tad bit fat on the big end the first pass or two, took out fuel and gain a little on the mph but couldn't go any faster then a 7.20. the car is so easy to drive it really makes it a fairly boring experience, needs more powa! car has cut a 1.5x 60' before but i never actual "dead hooks", it always spins just a bit coming out of the hole and rolls over onto the passenger tire hard. need to bite the bullet on a anti-roll bar and pick up some 243 heads, pretty sure that'd plant me safely into the 6's. i think that is what i am going to do this winter. if i can find the scratch i'll probably get mike to build me a new converter and spray a 150 shot on top.
