With street tires and an unprepped track, a guy ran 11.8@118 with one. Pretty friggin far from a 10.8@126.

Street/Strip - Racing the Hellcat Challenger - So, i was on the first wave of the media launch for the 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat. Drive impressions are under embargo, but videos are not so I got up a couple videos of me taking it down the quarter mile. It was a bare setup quarter mile, running on the on-board timing...

are you retarded? factory street tires and not even a drag strip? what kind of fucking magical rwd car runs 10s on the street with street tires? 11.80s is pretty impressive considering he was pedaling the fuck out of it.

It's a little bit odd to see the trap speeds so far off and a full second faster with nothing but a drag radial. It's not like car manufacturers are beneath sending out a stripped down ringer for the first publication.

          662hp vs 707hp
          3850lbs vs 4250lbs
I thought the rumors for the new GT500 were 750 hp?
Good judgment comes from bad decisions and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

Go get you a 700+hp car, put some factory street tires in a 275 size on it and see how fast you can go on the street. they werent even on a drag strip, they were on a road course with makeshift timing system.

              10.85 with 707hp = I'm not impressed.
My 17 year old Cobra runs close to that with a lot less, not gutted or stripped out.

it weights almost 1000 pounds less, and im betting you cant run a 10.85 on factory tires.

Youre talking about your drag car vs a multipurpose race car. The Drag Pack they did in 2011 was only 750hp and went WAY into the 9's.

BTW, cars dont have to be gutted to be set up for drag.

Thats not even my point but nice try dick. If you wanna throw down 60k on a junky dodge of all things be my guest., The hellcat runs on that on drag radials same as I run, and my car really isn't a drag car at all. Would I road race it? No but would I hesitate to road trip in it? No.

To be fair....I would love to have a low mile 94-98 Cobra with a new Cobra Jet motor swap.

The Hellcat does look cool though.

I am looking to sell mine. It's not super low miles but not super high either. 84k, forged rods, pistons, ect.
