I remember much more frequent scary thunderstorms and torrential rain in north Texas on a daily basis 30 years ago. The first year I realized that things had really changed was in '05 when I worked outside all day and commuted on a motorcycle daily. For a solid year I was NEVER caught in a storm. Not even once. I raced a few late afternoon showers on my way home in the early summer months, but I was never caught in a bad storm, work or commute.
Things are-a-changin' around these parts. It seems more permanent to me, not just a cycle. Sure there are natural cycles at work but I think we are having a more profound and compounding effect on our environment than we realize yet.

The original prognosis was that he would not survive but if he did probably not come out of the coma. His story went viral in the few months after and ended up being in media all over the world. He was released from the hospital in Fort Worth several weeks ago walking out on his own. He has some memory issues and problems with his right arm/leg so he will be in therapy for quite awhile. One of the best kids and family I have ever been around.
