Ouch. How many nights were on it without a rebuild?

Since 2006. I can't remember the exact date, but it's first night out was a race at TMS. I remember that race because in the heat I hit the mag switch costing me a transfer spot. I now have my switch setup so that I have to intend to turn it off.

Haven't been home all weekend to finish the tear down. I should finish it up tomorrow.

it's a 305, it probably split the cylinder wall like they all do. yay for spec racing, now an $1800 block is legal.

I'm almost certain an oiling issue caused it. More than a few spun bearings, rods discolored, cam broke into 4 pieces.

Continued pics from the tear down. I still have one rod/piston to get off, as when things were rattling around it broke the head off the bolt. The Photobucket mobile app is being a dick and won't upload all of the pictures.

This I can only assume is a mangled part of a bearing.

The rod that said NOPE to staying together anymore:

What's left of the rod end.

This is what of the cam I could get out of it. There are still 2 large pieces in the block.

At this point, I think it's more of a 3/4 race cam.

Slightly used, and for sale. You interested?

Some of the guys that are familiar with sprint cars don't believe that I've got a stock crank, and say that they break. Well, the crank isn't broken, but it's hammer fucked. I've got a video of the journal I'm uploading to youtube now.

maybe if it would fit a Ford, i'll keep looking though.

Is a 283 2 bolt block and steel crank any use to you?

I've got a block and a crank, but the cranks need to be a standard SBC (2.1/2.45 journal diameter, 3.48 stroke) piece, I'm not sure what the 283's use for cranks.
