As POSYJ said, looks like their neighbor may be at risk too.. Once that big chunk falls off anyways.

Growing up in California, I have seen my share of homes next to cliffs or on hillsides lost in mudslides and the like. I would never want to own a home anywhere close to a cliff like that.

This is the same thing as the idiots building their houses on stilts to be next to the ocean

If a tornado hits a rich persons house, the rich person doesn't have a right to be upset about it?

I don't want to be near that lake when that chunk falls off. Water displacement is a bitch.

I'm thinking that the house is the only thing holding the cliff at the moment. The house will reach its stress point soon. Should be a good show.

Although the pictures are posted above if you want to look on google maps search for White Bluff Resort and look for Overlook CT. It's in the far north west corner of the neighborhood.
My family has a lakehouse in Lakeside Village, just up the road from Steele Creek Park. It's right across from those bluffs. Their place is about 25 feet from the edge of a cliff overlooking the water, but it's not near as steep as those bluffs. We have an old ass trolley on a winch that takes us down to the water and back. Super sketchy!

You're making it into an either/or thing when it isn't. Regardless of bank accounts, people who have bad things happen to them are worthy of empathy.

Wealthy people have no right to complain about anything, don't you know? They should pay higher taxes than everyone else, should donate a higher percentage of their income to charity, and should feel lucky that they are successful. None of what they have was earned through hard work. They just won the "lottery" of life.
