  • Turbocharged 1972 chevy truck

This is just a quickie thread - but I've worked on this truck off and on for ~5years. First was a turbo kit, blowthrough on a stock cast piston 350. It made something like 460RWHP with a loose ass converter. Prior it made like 240 rwhp. This was on ~15psi. It ran for a couple years like that, drove it every where. The motor finally gave up, spinning a rod bearing. I built a new motor for it and they did a frame off on it. Shaved handles, air bagged, EFI, painted underside, powdercoated frame, EVERYTHING was redone.

Keep in mind, this is not all of our taste - but it's his taste, and what the customer wants, the customer gets. The shitty cell phone pics do it no justice.

Here's a quick youtube video of it idling - this is now a 383, megasquirt EFI kit that I built, Ford AOD, 80# injectors etc. The ratting in the video was the waterpump pulley (sounds a LOT worse than it was, lol)

Whats the advantage of the Ford tranny vs a GM unit ? Seams reverse of what most guys do . I dig it .

The ford AOD's are superior to most any GM overdrive trans. The clutches are HUGE by comparison...and there's more of them.

This thing has the potential for 1,000HP with a turbo swap.

Whats not to like about that? The paint scheme is a little dated but the way you were talking about taste I was expecting to see a hoopty ride on 26's. I would drive the shit out of that with pride.

Not sure, I personally like it - but not everyone's into the bagged/carshow theme.

It's well built, with money spent in all the right places - big brakes, efi, turbo , Overdrive...

He thinks he's gonna drive it every where, but I think he'll get tired of washing/detailing it!

I think its more hot rod then hooptie . I think the rims make the differance .

I don't like slammed trucks, but it is a very nice truck. Love that year.
