Because it is part of the music. There are many regular songs (not bass music) that have information in the subsonic range. Its what makes you feel like you are there instead of hearing a reproduction. Couple that with new tech and the rest of your argument is invalid. Class D amps are very efficient and run cool. My sub amp has never gotten anywhere near as warm as my door speaker amp. The subs have an XBL2 motor structure and with a high quality coil and aluminum cone they also do not get hot and have no issue controlling driver movement at those frequencies.
Yes you do pull a bit more juice for those subsonic frequencies but its only 10-20% more and it just adds so much to the whole listening experience.
