If you have an 8inch driver with alot of xmax you could easily get it below 50hz, and even lower depending on if you wanted a ported box, however it wont be loud.
You dont know a fucken thing about what you are talking about. move along Mike.

A SEALED box plays lower than a ported box, it just isnt as LOUD at the tuned frequency... a ported box will never play as low, it will just flutter and make fart noises.

BTW Im still VERY VERY into car audio, I just dont currently have a car I want to put a system into yet. Most of my past cars have had stereos. The stereo in the vert is pretty fucken rediculous imo.

Welllll, I didn't know that MB Quart went to total crap. Just one day I asked myself if I could install a small system for under $350 considering my factory deck had no CD player and was, well, stock. When I worked at Tsunamis Electronics MB Quart was all good, even their Discuss line. So when I saw new MB Quart amp for $80 and a new MB Quart sub amp for $70 and new MB Quart components for $60 and new MB Quart subwoofer for $40. Then I found a Pioneer refurb for $30 with warranty and another $60 for a box and wires I knew I could build a $350 system that wasn't crap.
And really it was 100x better than OEM but that's not saying a whole lot.
I was then bit by the mod bug like happens every damn time and I kept upgrading.

Its like throwing some nitrous on your Stang and then deciding to get a blower and then wanting more boost so you have to forge the engine, same kinda thing.

So here is my super cheap stuff that all together (excluding the ESP2):

Very good point.. His crew has had to fix one or two of my shitty self-installs in the past.

And Jluv has some serious install skills too. Some of the stuff he has done amazes me.

You only need about 25% coverage on the "dynamat" type deadener. Here is a good site. http://www.sounddeadenershowdown.com/

Of course, I am sure you have already read about it on DIYMA

I did the SDS method on my front doors and it made a world of difference in the bass response.

I will only be using a couple square feet on the outer door skin from inside of the door but the entire inside facing panel will be covered to seal the cavity. I will also use some bits on the door card since its just one big piece of vibrating plastic. Figure a few 6" square bits on its flat spots will help it out as well. Same thing with the king cab section. Just a couple squares inside the panels and those plastic bins that like to vibrate. But yeah, door skin that goes behind the door card will be fully covered. I only bought the 50mil thick FatMat.

DIYMA is a great source for knowledge. Always learn so much there which is great because I have been out of the audio install game for about 5 years and only do friends and personal stuff now.

I'm big into stereos, just always seem stuck buying the cheap shit though! I have a basic system in my blazer, just 2 cheap ass old Kenwood 12's in a 3.5 cube ported box tuned to 32hz on an older PPI amp, some alpine components on a matching PPI amp. Next on the build is door insulation (if I keep the truck).

                Simple and quick

What is that in the box? An active radiator?

Maxxsonics owns the name and manufactures the products as cheaply as possible wherever they can get it done, meaning China. Lots of familiar brands suffered a similar fate. Even JL farms out a lot of their production now.

Yeah I learned that after the fact. All of my favorites kinda went crappy. Infinity and JBL are still good but the rest are so hard to keep up with. Rockford was the best, then went to crap, then got pretty good, then wen to crap and then got really good. MTX was crap then got really really good, then average and then crappy and then.... well I dunno. Boston was always great but they seem to have abandoned the car audio market and their amps always were just average.

You gotta stick with the high end weird name stuff to get quality it seems like.

I love my JL amps. Cleanest amps I have ever owned. 108.5db S/N is still one of the best in the industry. They add zero hiss and no coloration to the music.

JL speakers are hit and miss. They should stick to subs only. W6 subs are super musical and the W7 series will rip your face off.

I'd run a complete Image Dynamics system if I could. I've run their IDQ 10's in the past and had a set of the ID8s in a small ported box in the blazer for a while. Impressive equipment. I've got the 8's in my attic and may fab up a glassed box for them one day, they always sounded bigger than they were.

Image Dynamics always had good stuff. Seems like the favored setups that are always winning SQ competitions are cars with the new V4 series ID subs, Illusion Carbon C6 components and Mosconi amps.
