That's some badass technology! I assume those have to lay on top of existing roads... wouldn't the underlying concrete still erode and need repairs?

sounds great, until you realize the government would be in charge of this, which means this is just another vehicle for them to rape our fucking asses on taxes.

Will never see the light <rim shot> of day. Oil is too big of an industry.

This. Redoing every roadway, putting in that utility tunnel, the drainage and the underlying power grid.

But it may be an opportunity to overhaul our entire infrastructure, allowing people to revolutionize multiple industries. As a stand alone piece of tech (ooh, a solar tile with LEDs) it's alright, but what if you can combine with other technologies. What if it could work in conjunction with power stations that could recharge electric cars when they park? Didn't the video point out that this would be a good time to also update the power grid and telecom lines? What about the road also including a RFID setup that works with GPS and autopilots vehicles? i honestly cant think of what else can go with it but there has to be people out there that can come up with something that would make it worth it. Yeah, it's going to be expensive, but there is the potential for true long term benefits if it doesn't get half assed. It probably won't happen though, just science fiction, blah blah blah...
