First off you cant buy the plugs for $100. The new one piece plugs are $20 each at parts stores so I can only imagine what Ford wants for them. So not sure if your service writer is a complete retard or you are just being untruthful. . Once you change them to new design plugs its not a problem anymore. The phasers failing is much more costly, and almost guaranteed to happen. The timing chains and tensioner also kinda suck

I bought the plugs from O'Reillys and took them up. I have no reason to lie.. The service writer may have fucked up but they honored the price and I had my truck a few hours later. Yeah if you do it right you its easy not to break a plug. But being I have to charge $160 plus tax for the plugs, $20 in chemicals and 4-5 hours of hands on time plus taking into account it will take up the bay for a full day I charge $300-$350 for labor depending on age of the plug. Longer its been in there the more cleaning you have to do so the more I charge. I am $70 an hour. Simple math.Originally posted by lowthreeohz View Post
