He doesn't seem unreasonable. However, it does appear that Porsche is in the wrong.

      Jalopnik article about it:

Nick Murray is a guy like many of us. He has a dream car, and he's worked hard to finally get it. In Nick's case, that car is a Porsche 911, and he managed to realize his dream. Well, with only one small catch: He says his Porsche 911 is a total lemon. Here's everything wrong with this sad, sick 911.

Indeed...a far worse issue than some electrical demons. When I bought my 911 it hadn't yet been done, and I spent the money to upgrade it within the first few thousand miles.

Funny thing is...after the car had been sold a year or so, I got a letter with notification of the class action lawsuit taking place on it, stating I would at the very least get my money refunded for that upgrade, however all the records went with the car when I sold it.

i know it's long way off, but i'm actually car shopping for a car next fall (2016 MY).

funny enough i am/was interested in a porsche. while i'm looking at a cayman gts, possibly a base carrera, this video did really put a damper on my desire for one. i wont say it's gone completely but that is due to the fact that any car i choose, i'm doing a 3 years lease on this kind of thing. i refused to be stuck with long term maintenance and no bumper to bumper on a car that like this.

the main reason i'm effected by this video is how the mechanics treated this car. to me, the problems are shitty enough. the fact that they are not fixed is terrible. but the worst thing however is that the mechanics destroyed the good parts of the car trying (failing) to fix the car. broken dash components and simple plastic clips. in-excusable. as far as im concerned that car is WHORED OUT and i wouldn't want it at all.

Same, and I would feel that way about any new car, be it a Ford Fiesta or a 911. If I'm paying hard earned money for something that doesn't do what it's advertised to do and the dealership is just dicking me around making empty promises, I wouldn't want it either.

totally. i only drive a mitsu so dash rattles came standard.
i've taken a lot of things apart (to fix rattles as well as do an in dash tablet).

on interior panels, there have some shitty white clips. even when i remove a panel perfectly, sometimes that plastic clip breaks a tooth. a replacement is $1.08 so i bought 10 and replace them as needed when i take stuff apart.

i understand new cars are built so it's ridiculously hard to take crap apart and for it to go back together perfectly, but if you can replace a $1 clip to keep a customers car from coming back in.

Yes, I had that and documentation showing every single thing that had ever been fixed under warranty.

That's good, probably a big reason why you were able to get out from under it. I wouldn't purchase a buyback unless I had the full history so I could quell the fears of the next owner.

I bought it from a Chevy dealer in Wisconsin (car came from cali, they got it at auction) and the Wisconsin title actually stated that it was a buyback, but when I transferred it to Texas they issued me a clean and clear Texas title. It did still show up on carfax.

Yep, washing the title. Many states do not transfer title branding. Very common. That's why when I look at units I always make sure it doesn't have a previous <1yr out of state title transfer. Surprised Carfax caught it, usually it doesn't catch shit.

Porsche is finally offering to buy the car back after all the negative publicity.

Yesterday we brought you the sad story of a man and the Porsche 911 that let him down. Many of you sympathized with this fellow gearhead, and hoped Porsche would do right by the guy. It turns out, they will!

Like I said, they will pay him. He really didn't have to make a show of it. Porsche usually takes care of this stuff.

I think he did everything he could and Porsche was still dicking him around. In my opinion they still would be if he hadn't made a "show" of it. The "show" is what finally got some results.

Seeing the Kayaks on the car would make me want to void his warranty anyway.
