  • A couple of new pens.

I'm really happy with how these came out. This was the first time I have tried using a CA finish. I put some boiled linseed oil on the blanks and then several coats of CA. The spalted maple pen has had no polishing or sanding of the CA at all. I loved the satin finish on it so much that I left it as is.

The olive wood pen was wet sanded down to 12000grit micro mesh. Then I used a polish on it. It didn't come out quite as glossy as I had hoped so I'm really open to suggestions on this pen. That said, I really love how it came out.

The olive wood was imported from Bethlehem. I'm thinking about selling them to people at church and put that money towards supporting the mission work we're doing in Zambia and locally in DFW. I'm thinking of charging $50 for them.

Putting aside the charity part of it, (I do plan to sell some for profit at some point) what do you guys think of that price for something like these?

Are you trying to get a high gloss finish on the olive wood pen?
