New (to me) toy

I finally got around to getting a decent shot of it last weekend. It's hard to get motivated to do a full shoot on it because it's bone stock, but the rolling shot isn't bad.

Backstory... I flew up the metroplex to buy a red 2003 from Young Chevrolet. When I got there, the car was a POS. Leaking oil, turn signals didn't work, power seat went back, but wouldn't go forward, fuel door release button worked part of the time, climate control didn't work, and a few other things. Keep in mind I was told "the car went through a 100 something point inspection and was in perfect condition mechanically and cosmetically". Needless to say this one "somehow" fell through the cracks.

I handed them the keys and asked them to take me back to the airport because there was no way I was buying that car. The "manager" asked me to give them a chance to fix it before flying back home. They gave me a loaner car and told me to go find something to do for a few hours and they would call me when it's ready. No sweat! I hopped in their car and went to Corvette Warehouse and bought this one. lol They weren't too happy when I showed back up with their loaner, but they should have had their car ready to sell.

Anyway, here it is. Pristine condition inside and out. Only problem is it belonged to a smoker so the inside has that smell.

I can't say enough about Corvette Warehouse. Top notch place all around.

Looks good, I loved mine. All of those issues you described are pretty common problems, keep a eye on them with your new one. Make sure the recall on the steering column lock has been done, and honestly, you should probably do a delete on the lock. I had mine shit the bed in a gas station and had to be towed.

Haha, Yeah I bought an auto. I know, I know. Boooooooo But my wife wants to drive it and she cannot learn to drive a standard. It's more like she refuses. She tried to learn in two of my Mustangs in the past, but failed miserably. I figured I'd save myself the headache this time.

The one issue I'm having right now, that I'm learning is rather common from the Vette forums, is the vent actuator behind the dash. I'm trying to decide if I want to rip the dash out to replace it. I get cool air out of the driver side vents while the passenger side will freeze your nuts off.

I personally never had an issue with my blend door on my vette. If you decide to do that, I would also replace the hazard switch. For some stupid ass reason they route the turn signal through the hazard switch. One day you're going to try and switch lanes and your turn signals won't work (that was the problem with the vette you looked at from Young Chevrolet). Mine did this occasionally (it got worse with time) and you had to hit the hazard switch to get them back. In order to remove the hazard switch you have to pull the dash. It would also be a good time to do a column lock bypass.

I figure it I were buying at Bob's Auto Mall and it was sitting next to an '89 Ford Escort, then sure. I wouldn't expect it to be in working order. But buying from a Chevy dealership and being told it had already been gone through? Nah, I'll pass.

I had heard that Corvette Warehouse was a legit place so I stopped in to take a look. I walked in and told them what was going on and they walked me into the back and said, "take your pick". Mine is the one at the bottom of the shot.
