No matter what else happens in my life, the highlight will always be the day in early 2001 that Don Garlits called me "friend". And every time I've seen him, Pat was right there. They really were inseparable, right to the end. A 61+ year love story.
My heart still breaks for him. She was an amazing woman.

Damn... sorry for his loss.

I met him back in 2008. I went to Florida for a car show and the folks who put the show on set up a meet n greet type of deal. We all gathered at the museum but before going through the exhibit, he walked us through the garage and answered everybody's questions. I'd never seen so many Hemi blocks and superchargers just sitting on a shelf waiting to go. I'm pretty sure I posted pics back on that canadian site.
