However, her Facebook contained the following post before her account was removed: “This pic is 3 years old. I was a young airman who didn’t care (not uncommon). I was young and dumb. There are much bigger issues to be worried about than a 3 year old pic that was leaked. So get off of Facebook, and go to take care of your children, because one day it may be them in my shoes, getting called out of their name for a mistake that took a few second to make but a lifetime to make up for.”

So, she's claiming young and dumb. Insignia on the arm says E4, you're held to a higher standard, act like it or be prepared for a refresher course on the UCMJ.

EDIT: I realize she'll probably just get a written reprimand for it in her file, and maybe get passed over for promotion the next time she's eligible.

That will be a career killer in today's military. Drawdowns are in full effect the AF is launching people left and right over PT failures right now. This sort of publicity will ensure she won't promote anymore.

I did some dumb shit in the Air Force, but something this disrespectful and ignorant never crossed my mind. Some leasons are only learned the hard way, and she deserves whatever reprimand she gets. Next time maybe she will stick to drinking under age, loud parties, and drunk and disorderly conduct like the rest of us. You can make an ass out of yourself, but do not disrespect POWs or other war veterans. There are certain lines you just do not cross.
