New Toy....Jeep Wrangler

So far all i've done to the Jeep are:

-wheel locks
-shorty 8" antenna (already had from a previous Mustang)
-Door window tint
-transfer case rear output shaft seal
-Blower motor/Blower resistor/Blower Fan Switch (one of the fan speeds wasn't working so I replaced all three components)
-Rampage H4 headlights (installing this weekend)
-OEM Jeep add-a-trunk (found used on Craigslist)
-hitch cargo carrier

I thought foxbodys where easy to work on but the Jeep may be even easier. The tires are almost brand new Yokohama Geolander AT-S, which is making it hard to justify doing lift and tires right away.

If you want to make the fender flares look better try a heat gun. Just be careful about holding it in one spot too long, or it could melt and or warp.

I've been doing my research, I may just clean them and spray them with Rustoleum Bed-Liner or Duplicolor bumper coating.

I will never understand the whole Jeep thing. It's a rugged yet underpowered, drafty, leaky tin can. And somehow $8500 for a 15 year old one is a good deal? Does not compute.

I paid $8500. Based on what I've seen on the market the past 3 months, I think I got a really good deal. I had to drive to New Braunfels to get it. It was on CL for $9000. Clean carfax, no rust, really solid Jeep. My plan is to eventually do about a 3" lift, 32" or 33" A/T or M/T's on the stock Canyon wheels (with wheel spacers), and have fun.

That's a fantastic price on it considering the mileage. The stick is what killed him. I got 6 for mine, it needed a heater core and had nearly 200K on it. Mine was an auto though, guy drove from houston to get it because he couldn't find a 4.0L auto down there.

The 2.5L is an underpowered turd, the 4.0L is downright zippy for what it is. Drafty and leaky is spot on. Market determines value and there is a huge market for them.

The 4.0L is by no means underpowered at all. I say that from my experience wheeling them. 35" tires and 4.88's I was ascending at 150-200rpm on some pretty rough shit.
