I never realized how entertaining they were until I got this one.

I can sit for hours just wondering what they are going to do next, watching one male chase around the female then her chase them off, or watching the big guy try to fit in a hole his forehead wont even let him in lol

start a small salt tank. Then you will be amazed. There are so many critters in my tank that i have to come out at night with a flashlight to see them.

Yea one day I will venture into that realm, but for now the freshwater will do just fine.

I'm not going to disagree, but salt is 10x more work, 10x more expensive, and 10x more likely to crash and burn.

Shit I dont think so. Salt is easy imho if set up correctly. I change the water 20% of the water monthly. clean/empty the skimmer once a week, fill up auto top off and feed the fish.

I dont test, but i do test fresh buckets of salt.

Salt tanks can be as easy or as hard as you make them. Daily tasks are feed fish and enjoy.

They are expensive no doubt, but its worth it.

                    Well heres a little update

Ive re arranged the large tank and moved some of the other fish to a smaller tank.

The big Cichild is pretty violent and likes to eat things when the lights go out.

Heres a few pics of the tanks and a video of the small convict fry in the larger tank.

Well the addiction has grown, bought a 55 gallon tank and moved the baby convict fry to a smaller 30 gallon tank.

Why are you adding salt? Chiclids are fresh water fish?
