That is amazing. Why hasn't this been shown in the mainstream media, is it due to relating to stem cell research?

It's your own stem cells from your own skin, not from an aborted fetus. I don't see the controversy.

I didn't realize they could get stem cells from your skin.. If that's the case, why is there such a controversy on stem cell research??

One of my coworkers had her kid's stem cells, from the umbilical cord or something, cryogenic-ally saved in case there is a use for it in the future. Or at least says she did. I assume that's possible?

The term itself causes controversy from people who have no clue about it.

If I remember right there was a select few that wanted to harvest cells from a fetus that was less than 8-9 weeks old. The theory was that new cells for babies hadnt been assigned certain dna by the body so the cells could be used to regenerate any cell in the body. The process would kill the baby.
But as stated there's lots of different stem cell research other than ones that come from unborn babies.

                        Star Trek comes though again

The dermal regenerator was a common, easily operable medical tool used by several civilizations to heal minor skin wounds, such as cuts and burns. The dermal regenerator could also be used to revert surgically modified skin to its normal state, as well as to remove scars. It could also be used to simulate wounds or burns.
