One of the interesting bits about the second amendment in a recent Supreme Court case was in the opinion that concurred with the decision. I forget the judge who wrote it, but basically he said to illustrate how absurd a restriction on the second amendment is, just apply it to the first amendment....

According to the YouTube link, no judge in Bell County would touch the case, so they brought in a retired judge from Houston, and he heard the case. Jury convicted him because "self defense" was not allowed to be considered by the jury.

Interfering with the duties of a police officer. Apparently this was the second trial. First trial resulted in a hung jury.
