Activists tend to be... activists. I made it 45 seconds into the first video and had enough. That guy is a complete moron with his pre-scripted reactions to anything that's said to him.

There's certain parts of open carry that I completely support:
2nd Amendment, for example - kinda hard to argue against that.

There are also arguments against open carry that I see as valid:
The bad guy knows who to shoot first.

In a critical incident, how do we identify the bad guy from the good guy when everybody's carrying/pointing guns at everybody else?

A complete lack of training. Really? CHL holders have some training in non-violent dispute resolution, shoot/don't shoot, and have proved their proficiency by qualifying.

I don't know that the drunk redneck guy who thinks he has a constitutional protection to gunfight his way out of a DWI arrest is anything I want to deal with.

Are the open carry proponents we see on TV provoking things and looking for a confrontation really representative of the people who support open carry? I can tell you they don't represent me at all. If the morons are a vocal minority, the normal folks really need to step up and seize the initiative, or the activist morons are going to turn public opinion against open carry.

Some states don't require you to prove proficiency with a weapon to qualify for a CHL. I believe Virginia only requires a class and test, no shots down range at all.

Would I personally do that? No, most likely not.

However, I think you folks are missing the point. HE IS NOT BREAKING THE LAW. They are doing those things to prove a point and do what is allowed by law.

Lets just ignore the fucking fact that the cops are fucking with him/folks who do that. They probably make no effort to educate their citizens. In some areas, it's common to see a gun. Just because you prefer to open carry does not mean you should be harassed all the damned time. Catering to the whiners is part of what is going wrong these days...

I dont have a texas CHL, but Marisa does. I just dont know how the reciprocity is viewed now that she's formally a resident of the state. I'll talk to the VSP about it when I fill out my paperwork.
