I thought rules of engagement for cops says they cant shoot unless being shot at or to stop someone from being mortally wounded. Shooting at a fleeing vehicles seems a little excessive. Dude is gonna be in a world of crap.

As for the rest, she needs some cool down jail time. I cant fault the kid too much because after all, its his mother. He does need to learn to never attack a cop but he is a hormone raged teenager. Some community service would do him well.
