Exactly correct. 318 was the biggest V8 you could get. To do an RB swap, you used to need a new K member (if available) and a lot of custom work. Schumacher Eng. designed some pretty slick mounts to convert the old slant 6 to a small block V8, and the V8 cars to big block, that are simple bolt in deals. This car is using their mounts and headers too. Changing the plugs is probably at least going to require jacking the engine up on each side, it's a tight bitch in there.

And just for the record, I fully expect the car to handle like a pig on roller skates. The biggest engine they ever made, stuffed into one of the lightest cars? Sounds like a drag racer to me.
On the plus side, there are lots of new suspension bits you can do, bigger torsion bars, urethane bushings, rear sway bars, etc, that should be able to make it bearable. It doesn't need to be a road racer, just hopefully not flip over turning on to the return road.

That's a badass car dude!
An RB in an a-body is going to be a handful. The factory '69 440 cars had all kinds of one-off exhaust, steering, and brake parts to shove that monster under the hood and they were a disaster to drive. lol But as you said, it's only designed to go straight and it does that well. Can't wait to see it.
YES on the Cragars. I'm not really a fan of the dog dish + trim ring combo there. When the government pays, the government controls.
