Right. What does that piece of looting shit have to do with posting about a Red Cross link to families in need?

I guess only Naynay can make that connection.

The population over there on that side of the world is ridiculous.

There are more people living inside this circle than outside of it

This is a real-world circle centred on 106.6° East, 26.6° North, projected using GMT. More than half the world's population lives within 4100km of Guiyang, Guizhou Province, Southwest China.

Interestings - especially since it seems like half that circle is water.

From the guy who made it:

"To make it a proper circle while still including Japan and India, I had to trade a lot of sea for extra land.

Additions comprise parts of Afghanistan, the less-populous end of Khazakstan, all of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, the most densely-populated parts of Uzbekhistan, and a large, sparsely-populated section of Siberia."
When trying to add more people to get ~3.5 billion at some point the boundary of the circle gets into the sparsely populated areas... hence the need for the circle to grow much larger (and cover more water). I'm sure if there were a 40% or 45% circle (instead of 50%) then it would be much smaller.

There was another version of that pic with a "circle" on it, but it wasn't a proper circle in the real world (maps are distorted - sphere to flat sheet doesnt go too well). Background if you care:

No, generally I understand it. The concept is still true in my mind - that there is that much population in that little (relative) area.

I may read it though anyway when I can focus on it. Probably not bad stuff to know.
