I really want to gouge the idiot news people that are constantly calling this storm the strongest that has ever happened on our planet. Fucking sensationalism and they usually segway straight into an "AWWMAHGAWWWWD GLOBALWARMINGS!" report.

I thought they all believed in evolution and how this planet has been around for millions of years? Actually I think they are saying the strongest that's been recorded.

And it isn't any where near it-

Weather officials said Haiyan had sustained winds of 235 kilometers per hour (147 miles per hour) with gusts of 275 kph (170 mph) when it made landfall. By those measurements, Haiyan would be comparable to a strong Category 4 hurricane in the U.S., and nearly in the top category, a 5.
            Just sensationalized bullshit.

I think it's the strongest typhoon recorded. The pacific has always kicked the Atlantic's ass as far as big storms.

It isn't. Idiots in the media read the mph/kph numbers wrong and everyone else ran with it.

Even just $20 will go a long way for someone who lost everything in a storm.

The ones that survived the storm have no home to go to, nor food to eat. No change of clothes. No water to drink. The pictures show one moment in time but for the survivors, it's been going on for three days without a break.

No, but that fool with the beer is both funny and sad, but not sad like the families losing everything. Sad like, sometimes I'm really OK with a delayed response.
