I'd love to plasti dip my car white. I think of it every time i see this thread. I just suck at doing it, and would have to pay someone.

Rockwall Dodge did a new jeep hot pink. It's been sitting out front for a couple of months. They had another one that was blue or green, I can't remember.

I'm contemplating dipping my car matte white to cover up the mismatched fender and hood. After seeing cars with it done and watching youtube, it's not a tough job and is pretty durable.

Yeah, but I heard that white can stain. Shouldn't be a problem if it's garaged, but if it spends time under trees it may not be the best color choice.

Keep it clean for a week while it cures then wax it and keep it waxed and it virtually eliminates any staining.

Or put a gloss coat over the white to help protect it.

so is buying the gallons and professional spray gun the only way to do this or can you rattle-can it?

I did my wheels, as some may remember. They looked good for a while, but the black started to get a little sun-bleached. Not much, but noticeable. I went to peel it off a few weeks ago, and the front part where it was nice and thick came off without a hitch. The insides of the spokes and around the lug nuts, not so much, it was way too thin.

I did some searching/reading on the best way to get it off instead of spending hours picking off little dime-sized pieces, and Plasti Dip recommends Goo-Gone, of all things. Spray it on a paper towel, lay it on the area that isn't coming off very easily for 5-10 minutes, and it should wipe right off! I haven't tried it yet, but others in some forums I stumbled upon said it works like a charm! I'd probably not do that on a car's painted surface, but on wheels it should be a nice fix.

The cowl panel on my GT was getting sun faded, no matter what kind of products I put on it. So I masked it up and sprayed plasti-dip over it. Looks great! We'll see how it holds up.
