I found this ugly trailer and decided to give her a home. I usually lose interest in projects pretty quick so the fact I'm sticking with this is encouraging. I know it looks novice but that's because it is. Enjoy

What's plastidip?

The shit you used to dip tools in to give them a rubberized coating. They came out with a spray can version (not sure when, got my first can in 05/06) and people started painting their cars with it.

It can be peeled off. Now you can buy it in all different colors and by the gallon to be used in paint guns.

I painted motorcycle foot controls/pegs and my fox window trim with it in 06 or so. Wasn't very durable on the actual part I put my feet on, but everything else was fine. Went years before it really deteriorated on my trim.

Thicker you paint it, thick coats, multiple coats, the easier it is to remove. However, it oversprays like a motherfucker, gets EVERYWHERE. It can be removed too of course, but it's kind of a pain in the dick.

What you're describing sounds like bedliner, not plastidip.

Man.... I SOOOOOoooo wish you lived near me. I've always wanted to try my hand at making a panel to fill in that spare "void" in the fender and something like that would be a perfect opportunity. Not to mention a little TLC on the other side and those nasty dents would come out.... That old steal moves very well w/ the right amount of persuasion! Lots of good practice metal bumping potential on that kind of a project!

I have the spare carrier assembly. I found some tools I bought once upon a time and never used like a grinder, cutting wheel and an air chisel. I spent hours in the dark with my workshop lights on just grinding, cutting and hitting the bolts with the chisel. It was a lot of fun. I even got the tail lights off without destroying them. Needs new shocks, springs and the fluid in the differential changed though in addition to everything.

I like it! I have had my eye on an old trailer that looks like an old Willys bed I have been meaning to stop and ask about.
