Everything I've heard says that the camaro is a better chassis for taking corners. This doesn't seem that surprising to me.

4 seconds difference on one track isn't enough to make me want to buy that camaro over a boss, but really it's win/win. I want to live in a world where mustangs and camaros are trying their damnedest to whip up on each other and both perform well.

It's the ones in front that are important. Lots of people could drive them slower...

Lots of Camaro SS's that are 1-1.5 seconds slower thru the qtr than GM and the first testers. Looks to be the same for ZL1s, and no reason not to expect the same one-offs for the Z28's. Sales gimmicks for suckers.

IRS is the main factor in the Camaro being better. That being said, the 2014.5/2015 Mustang will have IRS.

              or a mustang

with that much money I would start looking at Vettes or other 2 seaters

I agree. That will buy you a really, really nice new Corvette.

You aren't the only one that has noticed.

IMO they did a great job updating the front and interior, but the rear just ruins the whole car for me.

Can't wait for the 2015 Mustang.

Do you think IRS has that much over solid axle ? Ride quality would be improved , but a lot of track cars still run solid .

Real road race cars all have independent suspension.

We'll see what ford does with the new mustang. If you are a fan of either car, this one-upmanship is a good thing for all breeds. Well, i guess you can count out the challenger, as its still fat, heavy, and slow.

Just like trucks have been getting better and better between ford, chevy, dodge, nissan, and toyota because of the constant need to best the other guy, and marketing manipulation of tow numbers will only get you so far.

Which Mustang costs 65k, btw? Is the GT500 that high now? Last i priced one out, it was in the mid 50s.

Buddy of mine bought a 14' Shelby a couple months ago slightly under sticker....he paid $59K and some change, I think he said it stickered around $62K.

I want to see the same thing....but laps 10-18. I could care less if it can rip off a single fast lap but the mass behind the Camaro will BOIL a tire long before the Mustang will. The Camaro will have to slow at lap 3 while the mustang keeps ripping off fast laps with it's 600# less weight.
