BS. I didn't know the Boss only weighed 3200lbs. The Z28 is 3800 and it will be fine with a bunch of track day lapping. You see tires boiling on the GT-R? Didn't think so. Now, I do agree consumable cost will be higher than lighter cars but it'll be a fun track day special with full factory warranty backing including track days.

Damn that's expensive. For that cash I'd get w C6 z06. In my opinion a whole different level of car for the same cash

I know where you're going with that, but I'm talking about purpose built cars not production vehicles that have been modified to race.

            +125ci
            +305 tires
            +ceramic brakes
            +magnetic dampeners
            -radio
            -a/c
            +$20,000

            I'm a little disappointed it's only 4 seconds faster on a 2-minute track, lol!

I'd like to have one, but that price tag is a little obnoxious.

Its all in the driver, and plus that video is B.S.

I compete in SCCA autocross and a few months ago a 2013 mustang GT (struts/shocks aftermarket) was 1/10 sec faster than a ZR-1.

Of course I have seen GTR's boil tires....anyone that has been around tracks enough know that weight murders tires.

Sure the Z28 will be fun on track...I just don't get the price. If tracking your car is your thing, there are TONS of cheaper, and FASTER options out there and the Boss302 is one of them. Hell, I'd bet a well driven Miata turbo could embarrass this car on track or at least chase it down after the tires go away! LOL!

Cool car to brag about at starbucks but I'll spend my track money elsewhere....like a Corvette!

Put a kid in the mix and a 2+2 starts sounding a lot better.

                        z28 vs. boss 302 LS

I think a lot of y'all are forgetting the Z/28 is a factory bred race car. Yes you can cruise it on the street but it's not designed for everyone to own one. 500 to be built first year.
Just like the copo you will order and receive just as tested.
They Test the Z/28 and Boss Laguna SECA as that's how it was years ago.

The Z/28 kicks corvettes Ass as it's designed to. Camaro tech already said if Corvette builds a car that beats the 28 they will gladly tweak the suspension as it's got pleanty of room to improve. It's built to win on race day not run the streets.

The Boss goes up against the 1LE

SS with suspension package and not a lame one either. IMO and many other people the 1LE is gm's best bang for the buck and handles awsome !!!!! Lots of hours behind that cars suspension.
                        1LE , LS3 , 3.91's , 6 speed manual and Recaros for low to mid 30's with a killer suspension

The new Z/28 was given the name Z/28 for what it was designed for in 69 racing at the track with all motor and lots of hp .
Everyone got used to RPO code Z28.
                        Not even the same car.

                        SS vs GT
                        1LE vs Boss
                        ZL1 vs Shelby

                        Copo vs cobra jet

Z/28. What ever sits on circle track

Are you serious? The 28 may be able to take out the base Vette, but the Zo6/Zo7, and ZR1 kick the 28's teeth in. You are smoking some serious dope if you think the Camaro program has any discretion to try to outdo the Vette program. Hahaha.

Tom peters and Al openhauser 2 current members on the Vette team were brought up to build the z/28
Peters said in the original days of the Z/28 not today's Z28 as we all saw in 4th gens but 1st gen cars. No one said a Camaro couldn't beat a Vette that's today's sales pitch on selling cars Who would buy a $70k Camaro over a vette? Can't do that

The 28 isn't a car built to win sales numbers

As openhauser says it's built to kick fords ass and anything they put on the track.

Gm has been ahead for so long then ford smacked them. The last so many years ( since 02 ) ford wears that crown. This is Gm's way of saying F U

There are two reasons why the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 exists right now: To give longtime Camaro fans a true track car and, according to its top engineer, to "beat the shit out of anything Ford can put out on the road." Here's how GM is going to pull that off.

A z/28 is a race car not a street car. Cough no radio or Ac just like 69

Ford IMO doesn't need to respond that are doing fine and making $$$$$

The future will be bright for both automakers

Vette will always beat a Camaro

But Gm will make sure a Z/28 will be there track car. The z28 will be a street car if it's used again.

Yes a z/28 is a Camaro but Gm doesnt say a Camaro z/28 it's just

                            Z/28

Vette rules !!!!!!! Always will but if they built a race car for the public c6r or C7r then that would be the answer.

I'm looking fwd to fords new gt and irs

The gauntlet has been dropped. And I'm sure Ford will respond in kind, but it may be a couple of years into the new S550 platform.

Maybe a 5.8L DI and a diet for 2016? Boss 351 anyone? Who knows. It's a good time though.
