It was all fun and games until that drunk cock sucker ran into that crowd in front of Centennial on WNWHWY.

I was there and standing 20 feet from the people that got hit, still makes me sick to my stomach thinking about what I saw.

We used to go out there all the time too until some dipshit in Fox body ran up on the curb and tagged one of the light poles, cops found out about that place after that and it was never the same.

I wasn't out there that night, but I was out there a while earlier when some guys in a green 68 Firebird hit 2 people. Fortunately, they weren't hurt too badly.

I think that car was black, 67 or 68? He came hauling ass back to the crowd after racing and his shit was over heating and had the windshield all fogged up, then couldn't stop cause it was puking water all under the tires.
I helped get the girl he ran over into some of her friends car so they could take her to the hospital, I know her leg was broke for sure.

Exactly. Most nights, cops would just basically drive by with their lights on and wouldn't see them again for hours. One time however I did see a car (can't remember what it was) "Widow Maker" it's way up the bank next to Newberry Street with a cop right behind it. He got away. Cop got stuck. It was glorious.

My old co-worker has told me several of the stories you all are talking about, I believe. He used to hit the street races down that way in the late 80's and early 90's. I believe he quit going to them after a guy took out a bunch of the crowd. Not sure if it's the one mentioned earlier or not. Pretty sure it was one of the racers that lost it from what I remember.

The one that ran through the crowd and killed people was a drunk driver that had nothing to do with the street races, the other one was a racer.
Also saw a car wipe out on California crossing and take out 5 or 6 cars parked on the side of the road.
Saw a biker get killed on manana when a car pulled out into the road close to the finish line, another biker get killed at regal row after running wide open across the shady grove bridge and then not being able to make the curve and slamming into a bridge pillar.
Seen way more shit out there than I would have like too, not to mention the shootings at Astro

Seems like I remember him saying something about the race being behind some kind or corvette shop. Bodies flying in the air, and him getting in his car and leaving before the cops showed. Also said a lot of pro-mod and door slammer type cars where beginning to show up. I'd guess this was early 90's

These two happened on NW Hwy in front of the liquor store. I don't know of anything other than that.
I do remember back in the early 90s a guy brought a pro mod out to Ft Worth behind the Miller brewery and attempted to race another car and ended up going up on the curb and tearing his shit all up.
