In general I'd say I'm not far off the mark. I see plenty of rutted areas along the highways and medians from running radar/laser to catch speeders. I know quite a few police officers, I was a EMT/paramedic for six years and dealt with officers on a daily basis. Not all are about screwing people over I'll give you that but most get off on how many tickets they write or how many people they take to jail. I was called into work not long ago when we had a mass casualty incident and I was going 70 in a 60. I was in uniform and explained where I worked and why I was speeding. He didn't seem to care at all and wrote me the ticket. I'm sure there are great officers who are there to make a difference and help people, but there are plenty who just want to see how many people they can ticket or arrest.

I have worked for two departments, and know a lot of guys from all over the place. It is not most, it is only a few. Usually new guys trying to make a name for themselves. Yeah we cut up about arrests and citations but it is usually just banter.

That's funny, I've heard from a couple of buddy's that Celina is not too bad. Guess it is just perspective though. Both Celina and VA seem to have large police forces for their town sizes. VA is all of like 2-3 thousand people and it's not uncommon to see 3-4 patrol cars cruising around town.

Really! This tells me that you do not know many police officers. Not one guy on my shift enjoys writing tickets, however it is part of my job. Can you go to work and sit on your ass everyday or just drive around burning gas? I write fix it tickets 99 percent of the time because I realize everyone fucks up. We caught a bank robber three weeks ago and we caught the area burglar this week after he assaulted a homeowner. My old ass chased him into a creek and woods for a ways. I even went down pretty hard in the creek once. I was cut up, soaking wet, and muddy as hell. But yeah your right, all cops are just revenue generators.

Again, provide a link of this happening. With all the "FTP" threads out there, one should be easy to find, right? I'm mean, 3/4s of the site hate police and all, and we've had plenty of police threads. There should be a veritable library out there to back up those statistics that aren't completely off the wall or anything.

I think you're way off on this one aspect.. There are plenty of FTP's that have plenty of complaints about cops, but one thing this board has almost always been united on is that thieves are better off dead.

Hell I know for sure I have seen threads where cops shot and killed a thief and everyone commented "good", "saved us some tax money!" etc.

You realize that just because there are 100 threads on here about cops abusing their power and people talking about it, it doesn't mean that those that condemn their actions when they are out of line hate the police, correct? I mean, if the manager at Subway fucks up my order I don't start hating all Subway managers.

Especially when as cut and dry as it was in the OP's video. There maybe some debate if the cops shoot/kill some dude at night who had a toy gun or something. Those situations may get dissected (sp?) a little bit, but I think some of the cops are starting to take those threads as personal attacks. Cause clearly our opinions matter.

That is the problem when you have people who can't separate themselves from their job. They take any negative comment about their profession or co-workers personally, regardless of merit.

I guess I just have bad luck over there. I was taking a drink of a Red Bull while I passed a motorcycle cop and he flipped around and pulled me over. He came up to the window of my truck and was rubber necking the inside of my truck. He spotted the Red Bull and started acting weird. I gave him my stuff and asked him why I was being pulled over. He kind of stumbled over some words and landed on speeding. Basically he thought I was drinking a beer and when he realized it was a Red Bull he had to think of something else to write me for. Yeah I thought the same thing about VA and Celina. It seems you're ok in VA as long as you're not on 75 out by Matt Cavender's place. I've gotten one ticket in VA but I totally deserved it. Lol

That would have been the right thing to do. I wasn't speeding I know because I am very aware of my speed when I'm in that town. Lol

I also got a ticket for speeding in a school zone over there before this happened. Officer pulls me over and says I was in a school zone going 35 in a 25. Speed limit is 35 normally. I told him I did not see a sign for a school zone. He states that it is back at a certain landmark. I did not argue and just assumed my head was in my rear and did not notice it. So after I get my citation I got to thinking about it and want to see where this sign is. I go back and the sign is covered up by a tree branch that has grown in front of it. So I take photos of it with my phone and take them to court. Guilty is what i received. I was in that area again a week later and the branch had been trimmed back. In some places it's all about the $$$.
