  • Freshly rebuilt engine problem

I was breaking in the hydraulic flat tappet cam in my freshly rebuilt SBF and something went wrong. I think it ran out of gas and now the starter went bad and it won't even turn over. We're going to try and push start it tomorrow.

About 10 minutes after starting my rebuilt engine, it suddenly fails. It appears the intake valve on cylinder #1 broke and dropped into the cylinder.

The fucking instructions say to run it at 3000-3500 RPM for 15-20 minutes. Shutting the motor off too soon can cause major problems with the cam break-in. You people don't know shit.

Will it turn over by hand? That noise was not good.

LOL yea running it with that massive noise caused a lot more damage now didnt it.

Sorry bro, but all that time and effort and cash spent rebuilding your turd is just about 100% wasted.

Did you put oil it in? did the instructions say that?

The key turns fine with one hand, but the starter makes an awful sound and the damn battery post start smoking.

I am no expert but that is not the sound of a motor running out of gas, something internal just let go. Or like I heard someone say onetime it go BOOM!!
