Those n54 engines are badass, might be the new 2jz. There are guys making 800 wheel on stock internals. My wifes mother has one, after the recalls it's been great.

I was planning to just get a few bolt ons and a tune, nothing too serious with it. Trying to mod dailies as little as possible from now on, ha.

The last thing I read about them, the injectors couldn't support much over 450, and there were no other injectors available.

I was planning to just get a few bolt ons and a tune, nothing too serious with it. Trying to mod dailies as little as possible from now on, ha.

Bolt-ons and a tune will get you 400hp relatively safely, plenty of fun for a DD. Had I gotten a 335i instead of the 328i initially, I don't know that I'd have upgraded to the M3 when I did.

Ha! Speaking of this very topic a guy just posted on NTBC (north texas bmw club Facebook group). Classic BMW quote for his v8 m5 with 125k on the clock needs $8400 in parts/labor. The dude is a mechanic there so his rate was $3k with $1900 of it replacement shocks/struts.

When I was first poking around on bimmerfest I read a thread where a guy had decided to sell his 02 7 Series because "His accountant had called and notified him that he had spent over 45k in repairs on it" in some amount of time. I read that and almost had a stroke trying to process this guy not realizing he had spent 45k on repairs to a car until someone else let him know. Talk about First World Problems.
