In the end it doesn't matter what others think, just start thinking through what you want and how you will use it, and then go for it!

For a '78 truck with a bad engine from the rust belt, that is $2800 too high.

Look out for rust holes filled with bondo.

Also, beware it may be an M-block. They look a lot like 460's to the untrained eye.
